Beautiful

I was sitting at the bench near the park with my book,  desperately seeking an escape from reality!

"She's beautiful", he whispered.

I looked up from my book to notice his glittering eyes fixed in the distance. I saw the girl parking her bike in the lot. She indeed is beautiful.

"How'd you know?," I asked curiosity leaping the better off my mouth.

He smiled and said, "How could she not? You know, when she proposed to me, she'd said, 'I know I'm asking more than I deserve. And I'm greedy, yes. But, if I could still get your love, I'll know you love me for who I really am. And I could tell my brain, that I can be loved as well. I'm seeing the world in a brighter shade, since I met you. And I want this every single day of the piece of my existence and beyond, if possible, with you. Will you marry me?' How could I deny when I've been hoping to say the exact same thing to her?" He touched his glazing ring grinning. And I realized he'd been talking to himself mostly.

That girl came up to him smiling. "Shall we go, honey?", she asked him.

"You're beautiful,"
he said to her now.

"Aw, not more than you handsome," she took his arm.

They left, hands around each others' hips. He whispered something to her. She looked back and smiled at me. I smiled instinctively.

She's beautiful, yeah. So is he. On who's the joke upon that he's blind and can never see the world? Does that really matter, though? Inner beauty is what counts, from the very beginning to the extreme ending.

I looked back at my book. Who'd have thought that reality could be as exciting and phenomenal and magical as my books?!
